Endless Summer

Bedford Avenue

(between N 3rd Street & Metropolitan Avenue)

Parked on the same block in Williamsburg nearly everyday, you’ll find Endless Summer, a taco and burrito truck doling out tasty, and somewhat authentic Mexican bites at modest prices. A popular truck that varies from medium sized lines at lunch time, to a wide open counter at off hours, their formula appears to be working.

In the chicken taco, generous sized chunks of chicken share space with cilantro, radishes, scallions, crema, raw onion, cotija cheese and a smooth avocado based sauce, redolent of a blended guacamole. All are wrapped inside a doubled up corn tortilla that’s as fresh as any soft taco wrapper you’ll find in this city. Overall, it made for a tasty light lunch.

The chicken taco I sampled had a healthy ratio of meat to filling, and was more substantial than most you’ll find in this price range. The flavors alternated from sharp raw onion, to a cool, fresh sensation courtesy of the crema and cilantro.  Unlike some other soft tacos, the various ingredients all came together nicely, making for flavorful and complex bites.

The fish taco, in this case tilapia, was nicely seasoned and grilled to a crispy and flaky finish.  It takes about 12 minutes to make, so it’s a bit more of a commitment than the other tacos, but your patience will be rewarded handsomely.  Red cabbage is added to the mix to give a bit more crunch, and brighten the colors and flavors throughout.

I’m looking forward to heading back for the beef tacos, as well as stepping it up to the more substantial burritos.

Mexican sodas are also available with the food offerings.
