A smaller version of Kalustyan’s, the Spice Corner can be relied on for various Indian ingredients, and delicious Indian desserts.
While they stock many types of spices and grains, and are great in a pinch, look to them for their front counter, loaded with authentic Indian treats.
Brightly colored Indian burfee, a dessert made from condensed milk, sugar and nuts, and nougat with pistachios, are two must haves. The burfee here comes in a wide variety of flavors and colors.
This is also one of the few places in Manhattan that carries green mangoes, an essential ingredient in Thai salads.
